Off to LasVegas on New Years Eve.

Got up every cold this morning (37 F. in the trailer). Started the generator at 9AM then the propane ran out, switched tanks and then things got warm. Drove back to Overton for groceries and gas for the generator.

Phoned for a reservation at the Hitchin Post RV Park in LasVegas. Left the Park at NOON and parked in LasVegas at 2PM. The park is a gravel lot with 2 trees at every site. The RV Park is full service and very clean but just a parking lot with no view.

The eagle is taken at Valley of the Fire State Park at the dumping station.

Dec. 30th, 2006

We are touring Valley of the Fire State Park today. The weather gets very cold in the evening and mid-50's F. in the afternoon. The battery in the 5th wheel is a little week, and we had to use the generator every morning. The park is excellent. The campground is beautiful but rustic, only water is provided. All the photos are of the park.

In the morning we washed all the salt off the vehicles. Then we pulled into the Lost City Museum, had lunch and did the museum (after Teri had her nap). The admission was $3.00 each and the museum was small but excellent. Teri bought a doll.
Then off to ‘The Valley of Fire State Park’, and found a campsite. Went to the Visitor Center and then it was time for supper and relax.

Dec. 28th, 2006

On the morning of Dec. 28, 2006, we watched the weather forecast for today going south. The weather report was for heavy snow around Cedar City until noon. So, we decided to get a late start. I looked for some clean pants and found I had 4 pair of short pants only 1 pair of blue jeans and no dockers.
Off to Walmart, in Provo for cloths, we were just there last night for groceries. Found corduroy pants and dockers and a 39.99 cell phone with $30.00 card for 300 minutes. A ten dollar phone and it works.
Left Provo at about noon. It rained, sleeted, and the road was salted and wet until a few miles south of Cedar City. By the time we hit St.George, Utah the temperature climbed from 25F to 54F.
Stopped just south of Overton, Nevada at about 6:30PM and this photo was of the next morning.

Another travel day! Left Dillon, Montana at about 8 AM and stopped at 5 PM at Provo, Utah.
The 1st two photos are near Idaho Falls, Idaho. The last photo is the KOA campground at Provo, Utah. Only the pass south of Dillon was bad, with packed snow on the highway, then ice with salt, then slush, then wet conditions then rain and more rain. Tomorrow we will have a late start. A storm has given Cedar City 12 inches of snow today and the forcast is for 12 more inches until noon tomorrow. The goal tomorrow will be Valley of Fire State Park near Overton, Nevada. Thanks again for unsecured wireless network called 'linksys'.

The Christmas Party was a somewhat different this year. In the past we would have supper in town and do something (bowling) and go to a house party.

This year we rented a van and has supper in Lloydminster at Mr. Bills (excellent) and went to the Vic Juba Theater and saw Michelle Wright and her Christmas Concert. ( also excellent). Then back to our house for the traditional gift exchange and exchange and exchange.
