Day One, Yosemite National Park

Map picture

We almost made the park border, but we ran into the Sugar Pine Railway.

PICT0066

The railway is a narrow gauge rail used from 1899 until 1931 to haul 30,000 acres of lumber out of these mountains. Once one area was clearcut, they would uproot the track and move to a new area.
