South Bend, Indiana

We drove to the Center of History/Studebaker Museum. Also on the grounds is the Oliver House. The home of the manufacturer of Oliver Farm Equipment.

Studebaker start off as a coach builder in the horse and buggy days

This is the last Studebaker to come off the South Bend line on December 31, 1963

Studebaker built Electric cars from 1902 to 1912 (1841 built).

Studebaker was involved in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, actively campaigning factory-backed teams in 1932 to 1933. Thus the “speedway” name for this Speedway President, which broke the record for a road trip from San Francisco to New York with a time of 77 hours, 40 minutes.(3302 Miles)

This is the last Studebaker made on March 17,1966 in Hamilton, Ontario. It brought to an end 114 years of vehicle manufacture under the Studebaker name.

The house is beautiful inside and in the original condition but no photos allowed.

Great tour, wonderful house all built with sales of the Oliver Plow.
