Jan. 6th, 2007 Death Valley Day Two
This morning I started off by myself for a photograph tour of the sand dunes near Stovepipe Wells in the middle of Death Valley. After the winds there was no foot prints left in the sand dunes at 8 AM.
On the way back to the campsite I found that the rain produced some flowers, the photo is of the Desert Gold.
I picked up Teri at the campsite and off to Dantes View at over 5,000 feet above see level. The view was magnificent, it was so great that Teri could NOT leave the truck, week knees was the reason. Then off to 20 Mule Team Canyon, to see the old mines. We stopped at another outlook and we found a University fine arts program shouting a science fiction comedy. We stopped for lunch then off to the lowest point in North America, Badwater Basin, Death Valley. At that point we took a walk on the salt flats. Then on the way back we stopped at the Natural Bridge and Artist Palette drive. The sun had set and off to home for an early night.
