Repairs and a slow drive to Wichita, Kansas

We started this morning with a drive to the Kenworth dealership to replace a U-joint that was worn out. I phoned at 9 am and was in by 10:30 and out by 1 pm. The motor-home goes so soooo smooth down the hwy.

We left Topeka at 1 pm and decided to take the scenic route down highway 177, also I could be real cheep and avoid the toll highway. The road was narrow but just resurfaced. The highway goes through Flint Hills and natural Tall Grass Prairie.P1104147

Note the salt on the Honda!!!!

We arrived just after sunset in Wichita, Kansas and camped at a real campground. We filled the motor-home with water and checked all the systems. Everything still works.

Off to Texas tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

Topeka Kansas, January 9th 2009

We left Brookings, SD at 9:30 AM after a good nights sleep at Holliday Inn Express. We drove on the freezing rain and snow until Sioux Falls. We then had dry roads for about an hour until we got close to Sioux City. We then drove through rain for about an hour. After this it was clear sailing. So, we are here camped at Walmart in Topeko. We know have a new cell phone number. The cell phone cost $14.97 but included a $10.00 credit to the bill for airtime.

Talk to you soon
